Beyond Tutoring: Specialized Remedial Therapy
While traditional tutoring can help students with specific subjects or work habits, it often falls short for those facing deeper learning challenges. The students we see struggle with core academic skills like reading, spelling, comprehension, writing, or basic math. Despite tutoring or school-based support, their progress is slow or nonexistent. These students need more than review; they need a different, remedial therapy approach that addresses the underlying challenges in how they learn.
At The Reading Foundation, our intensive, remedial therapy support targets the root causes of learning difficulties.

How We Are Different From Tutors
Evidence-Based, Proven Programs
Our programs are based on current literacy and learning research. Developed by Dr. Steve Truch, a learning specialist and former school psychologist, who continues to stay informed of the many developments in the field of literacy, our methods are continually refined to reflect “best practices” validated from that research. Every program is delivered consistently by our expertly trained clinicians, supported by experienced team leaders at each clinic.
Structured and Intensive Learning
Our model is immersive. Students typically attend each day for four hours for a number of weeks. This structured format, which combines direct instruction and discovery-based learning, contrasts the typical tutoring models of one or two sessions per week. The result? Accelerated progress and lasting improvements.
Personalized, One-to-One Instruction
Every learner is unique. That’s why each student at The Reading Foundation receives personalized, one-to-one instruction tailored to their specific learning profile. Our clinicians are trained to adapt strategies to support each individual’s academic growth which builds skills, confidence, and self-esteem.
